Trouble is, there are thousands upon thousands of truetype fonts out there, many free, many commercial, many excellent, many it's hard to imagine ever finding a use for.
So this list doesn't even come close to being comprehensive, but we hope they are among the better font resources available.

ChankFonts Mainly commercial fonts, some freebies too.
DingbatDepot If you're looking for a specific symbol, a dingbat font can be a good place to look; this place has plenty of 'em.
FontLister View or print your fonts, or get specific technical details about them.
FontPool Loads and loads of fonts, with a nifty preview feature.
FontsForFlash Obviously, you can use them elsewhere as well, anywhere that needs a bitmap font or some text which is legible at smaller sizes. Some commercial, a lot of freebies too.
LarabieFonts Ray Larabie's been making fonts for a long time; to begin with they were all free, but now some are so good he can charge for them.
Typograf Highly respected shareware font manager.
WhatTheFont Seen a font but don't know what it's called? This place does a great job of identifying it.
